How to Fix a Cracked Phone Screen at Home in 30 Minutes Without Damaging Your Phone

Step-by-Step Process

*Step 1: Power Off and Prep*  
Turn off the phone completely. Remove the SIM tray. Take a photo of the phone before you start so you remember where screws go.

*Step 2: Heat and Lift the Screen*  
Use a hair dryer on high heat around the edges of the screen for 1 to 2 minutes. This softens the glue. Place a suction cup on the screen and pull gently. Slide the pry tool into the gap and work around the edges slowly.

*Step 3: Disconnect the Battery*  
This is the most important step. Before touching any other part, disconnect the battery connector using a plastic pry tool. This prevents short circuits and damage to the motherboard.

*Step 4: Swap the Part*  
Remove the screws holding the metal bracket over the screen or battery cable. Disconnect the old part. Connect the new screen or battery. Power on the phone to test the display and touch before gluing anything.

*Step 5: Clean and Glue*  
Remove old glue from the frame with alcohol and cotton. Apply new T7000 glue or adhesive around the frame. Place the new screen down and press firmly.

*Step 6: Reassemble and Test*  
Screw the brackets back in place. Reconnect the battery. Power on the phone. Test the camera, speaker, charging port, and touch. Leave the phone under a heavy book for 30 minutes to let the glue set.

1. Do not rush the heating. If the glue is not soft, you will crack the LCD.
