The rise of artificial intelligence has opened doors for a new generation of creatives — people like me, an AI video artist and data annotation worker trying to build a career in this fast-growing space. On paper, it looks like opportunity is everywhere. Platforms promise flexible income, global access, and endless demand.

But behind the scenes, the reality is very different.

This is my honest story, the struggles, the rejections, and the lessons I’ve learned while trying to land AI-related jobs online.

The Expectation vs Reality Gap

When I first started, I believed that having skills in AI video creation and data annotation would be enough. I spent time learning tools, improving my prompts, and understanding how platforms work.

But then came the reality:
* Too many applicants for very few roles
* Jobs getting filled within hours
* Platforms flooded with global competition

Even when I applied early, I still received messages like; “The position has been filled by someone more suitable.” It makes you question yourself, am I not good enough, or is the system just overcrowded?

Applying for AI jobs isn’t just about skill, it’s about timing, luck, and sometimes even geography.

Some challenges I constantly face:

* Limited access to higher-paying opportunities
* Long application processes with no feedback
* Inconsistent job availability.
Even on well-known platforms, you can spend days applying without getting a single response.

The Mental Side of the Journey

This journey is not just technical, it’s mental.

* Patience is part of the process
This isn’t a quick-win career, It’s a long game.

My conclusion; Still Pushing Forward

The AI space is growing, but it’s also becoming more competitive every day. Being an AI video artist and data annotator isn’t just about skill, it’s about resilience. I’m still applying. Still learning. Still improving. Because at the end of the day, quitting guarantees failure but persistence gives you a chance.
And for me, that chance is enough to keep going.
