 # After March: Why Active WURK Users Earn More (Passive Holders Don’t)

Before March 2026, holding 100,000 $WURK was enough to earn vault rewards. Now? You also need to be **active** on the platform.

Here’s what changed – and why active users now earn much more.

## How the Vault Works

The vault is a reward pool. Every time someone completes a job on WURK.FUN, a portion of the fee goes into the vault. Every 12 hours, the vault distributes tokens to eligible wallets.

More jobs = bigger vault = bigger rewards.

## Before March: All 100k+ Holders Qualified

The old rule was simple: hold ≥100k $WURK and get rewards. Passive holders who never used the platform still collected.

The problem? Thousands of inactive wallets shared the same vault. Individual payouts were small.

## The March Update: Active Holders Only

In March, WURK changed the rule:  
**Hold ≥100k $WURK AND be active (e.g., complete jobs regularly).**

Passive farmers were cut out overnight.

## Why Rewards Got Larger

Same vault, fewer people.

- Before March: 2,000 holders → your share = small.
- After March: 200 active users → your share = **much larger** (often 5–10x).

- No more freeloaders – only contributors earn.
- Rewards motivate more platform activity.
- More activity = more jobs = vault grows faster.
- Lower sell pressure – active users are more engaged.

## My Take

This is one of the most sustainable models I’ve seen. It rewards **builders, not just bag holders**. The vault refills from real work, not inflation. If you’re active, you win. If you’re passive, you don’t.
